Informed Families

Informed Families is a grassroots non-profit organization founded in 1982. Informed Families/The Florida Family Partnership is the State of Florida’s major provider of positive parenting skills, serving millions of school age children and their families, while building parent networks throughout Florida, through its operations in South Florida, Pensacola and the Orlando area. Affiliated with the National Family Partnership, Informed Families believes that parents need skills and support during a child’s teenage years and that parents are the change agents who create healthy social norms in the communities. Informed Families focuses its efforts on educating and mobilizing the community, parents and young people to change attitudes and counteract the pressures in society that condone and promote drug and alcohol use and abuse.

Roughly 75% of Informed Families’ budget consists of local, state and federal grant dollars. Given the current times, Informed Families is working hard to ensure that the organization flourishes, regardless of any government budget cuts. Informed Families continues to make a significant positive impact on the lives of many through its varied programs and services.

Informed Families provides a wide range of underage drinking and drug prevention programs throughout the State of Florida. Over the years, Informed Families/The Florida Family Partnership has developed nearly a dozen programs and initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of millions.
